Hi there. What do you mean by "your application is accepted and you get an administration procedure number (tramite no.) and date of application"? Will I receive an email with these details or it will just show up on the page? And do you know if EU nationals can do the extensions same way as the other nationals? I read that they can, but I am not clear.
- This commment is unpublished.Hello David, when having completed the application process successfully you should get a confirmation email. But one thing I learned in Peru, don't trust the system. So when at the end of the whole online process the message pops up on your screen that your application was accepted best make a quick screenshot in case you never receive the email.
And yes EU nationals can extend online as any other national.
But be aware that according to the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs EU nationals are only allowed to stay on a "tourist visa" up to 90 days in a 183 days period while the Peruvian Immigration Law 1350 from 2017 states that foreigners, who don't need to apply for a tourist visa at a Peruvian consulate abroad, can visit for a maximum of 183 days within a 365 days period - two contradicting regulations that even some immigration officials aren't aware of and if are interpreted by each differently.
Anyway if you apply for an extension online the system might only allow you to extend your stay to the 90 days allowed for EU nationals. For example, when you entered Peru you got 30 days, so the system might only allow you to extend for another <60 days.
However a few EU nationals reported they hadn't had any problems extending the max of 90 days to 180 days (they got 90 days when entered and then extended another 90 days) online. Other EU nationals said they could only extend to 90 days and others that the system wouldn't allow them to apply online (error messages popped up, number of days wasn't accepted), but had no problems extending the max of 90 days at the Migraciones office.
So even though the online process improved over the last few months, it's still not perfect and sometimes a little challenging. Just try it out and see what happens. If you for whatever reasons can't manage you can always pay the nearest immigration office a visit and extend there.
Greetings
Eva- This commment is unpublished.Hi Eva, I am German. I have been trying to do it from yesterday. I have tried to extend it for 89, 59, 30, 60 days etc. But the system is not accepting me. All my details on TAM virtual and the bank receipt match perfectly. So I don't know what's going on. I am thinking about going to the Migraciones in Lima. Can I show up without an appointment? And what documents do I need to carry? Passport, bank receipt- anything else?
- This commment is unpublished.Hello David, for me the question is how many days did you get when you entered Peru? Already 90 days? That might be the reason the system wouldn't accept your request. Is your "tourist visa" still valid or are you already over the time? What's the error message? Anyway if you prefer to go to Migraciones you need your passport and a copy of the page with your personal details and the page with the entrance stamp, the bank receipt (best have a copy as well) and the filled in formulario F-007 (you can either download it here https://www.migraciones.gob.pe/formularios/FORMULARIO%20F-007.pdf or get it at the Migraciones office; just in case make a copy of it as well). As far as I'm aware you don't need an appointment for the extension, but this info is from the end of last year, so not sure if it's still accurate; sorry. I would really appreciate it if you could share your experience at Migraciones with me so that I can update this page if and where necessary. Thank you so much and good luck Eva
