Miraflores bookstores open until midnight to celebrate the World Book Day

As part of the celebrations for the World Book and Copyright Day, the municipality of Miraflores organizes the 4th “Noche de las Librerías” (Night of Bookshops) on Saturday, 22nd of April 2017.

On this day 27 of the 37 bookstores in Lima’s district Miraflores open their shops from 10.00 am until midnight offering next to books (some with incredible discounts) as well all sorts of activities including book readings for adults and especially kids, puppet theater shows, talks, lectures and concerts.

Ibero bookstore at Larcomar (Malecón de la Reserva 610, shop 210) for example offers a storytelling for children at 04.00 pm and discounts of 40% for selected books; and the bookshop Contracultura (Av. Larco 986) gives the first 50 children that come to the store with their parents one book for free.

Euromatex (Calle Schell 435) however offers books from S/ 10 and special discounts for children´s books, while Época (Comandante Espinar 864) presents a Latin American music concert and books for S/ 10, S/ 15 and S/ 20.

The Municipal Library Ricardo Palma (Av. Larco 770) houses a lecture about the comic "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" at 05.00 pm. The Fondo de Cultura Económica (Jr. Berlín 238) presents a storytelling puppet show with Giuliana Gaona at 05.30 pm and a concert of the Symphonic Orchestra of Manchay at 09.00 pm (Calle Esperanza 275).

With the Night of Bookshops also begins the campaign "Un Libro para la Reconstrucción” (one book for the reconstruction). The municipality asks for book donations for the flood victims. Donated books will help to stock libraries in public schools in Piura. Books can be donated at the Ricardo Palma cultural center, located on Av. Larco 770 in Miraflores.
