As part of his extensive 2019 / 2020 tour “An evening with Pat Metheny” the celebrated and highly awarded US American jazz guitarist and composer visits Peru giving a concert at the Gran Teatro Nacional in Lima in March 2020.

Already at the beginning of his career in the 1970s Pat Metheny had a unique playing style blending loose and flexible articulation with rhythmic and harmonic sensibility. Even though his work always was and until today is modern and contains elements of progressive and contemporary jazz, Latin jazz, and jazz fusion, it is deeply grounded in the jazz tradition of melody, swing and blues. Throughout his career he pushed the limits of his instrument, the traditional jazz guitar, by utilizing new technologies and refining its improvisational and sonic potential. Doing this he re-invented and re-defined the jazz genre constantly.

The 65-year-old, who received countless awards and prizes incl. 20 Grammy Awards, is accompanied on the tour by one of the best jazz drummers Mexican Antonio Sánchez, the extraordinary Australian jazz bassist Linda May Han Oh and British pianist Gwilym Simcock, a leading figure in the European jazz scene.

A must for all jazz lovers!
