The torch has been lit on Friday in an amazing event and the games are officially opened. We will bring you highlights of the most notable events.

Opening Ceremony of the Pan American Games - July 26, 2019 at the National Stadium in Lima

At 18:00 hours the opening ceremony of the Pan American Games 2019 in Lima, held at the National Stadium kicked off the Pan American Games 2019. Nearly 7,000 athletes from 41 countries walked in the traditional parade of nations. Several dignitaries, including the President of Peru and the President of Bolivia, attended – A spectacular event (Please watch the video of the complete ceremony below)!

Day 1 of the Pan American Games – July 27, 2019

Alex Lee from the US won the first gold medal of the Games in the men’s poomsae taekwondo final. Silver goes to the Peruvian Hugo Del Castillo. Mexico’s Marco Arroyo and Canadian Abbas Assadian take bronze.

Peruvian superstar Gladys Tejeda wins the women’s marathon gold medal with a new Pan American record of 2:30:55. US American Bethany Sachtleben wins silver in 2:31.20 and Colombia's Angie Orjuela bronze in 2:32.27.

And another gold medal for Peru: Peruvian Christhian Pacheco wins the men’s marathon in 2:03:16 breaking another Pan American record. Jose Santana from Mexico wins silver in 2:04.07, his teammate Juan Pacheco bronze in 2:05.30.

Luisa Baptista from Brazil wins the women triathlon in 2:00:55. Her teammate Vittoria Lopes secures silver in 2:01:27, while Mexico's Cecilia Perez takes bronze in 2:02:07.

In women's artistic skating Brazilian Bruna Wurts won gold, Argentina's Giselle Soler silver and Ecuador's Eduarda Fuentes bronze.

In the women's poomsae taekwondo Paula Fregoso from Mexico takes home the gold medal. Peru's Marcela Castilllo secures silver, while US American Karyn Real wins bronze.

The US women’s bowling team Stefanie Johnson and Shannon O'Keefe wins gold, with silver going to Mexico and bronze to the Dominican Republic.

Lima 2019 Peruvian Diego Elias wins gold in squash

After Gladys Tejeda and Cristhian Pacheco won the first two gold medals of the Games for Peru in the women's and men's marathon, Diego Elias followed them with gold in the men's squash singles and bronze in the men's doubles.

Francisco Mosquera from Colombia wins the men’s 61 kg weightlifting event lifting 132kg in the snatch and 170kg in the clean and jerk. With his 302kg overall he takes home the gold medal, Another Colombian Jhon Serna wins silver with 297kg, while Mexicans Antonio Vazquez wins bronze.

In the women's 10 meters air pistol competition Cuban Laina Perez wins gold before Ecuador's Andrea Perez.

The Cuban canoeing team Sergey Torres Madrigal and Fernando Jorge win gold in the men’s C2 1000 meters canoeing final.

Argentina's top skater Juan Francisco Sanchez wins gold in the men's artistic skating competition almost 20 points ahead of silver medalist John Burchfield from the US; bronze goes to Brazil’s Gustavo Casado.

Peruvian Diego Elias wins another gold medal for Peru in the men’s squash final. Colombian Miguel Angel Rodriguez wins silver.

Beatriz Piron from the Dominican Republic wins the first gold medal of the Games for her country in the women's 49kg weightlifting competition. She lifted 87kg in the snatch - a new Pan Am record - and 106kg in the clean and jerk for a total of 193 kilos - another Pan Am record!

The US take home the gold medal in the women's team gymnastics winning every single category. Canada wins silver, Brazil bronze.

Day 2 of the Pan American Games – July 28, 2019

Mexican Daniela Campuzano wins gold in the women’s BMX cross country at the Circuito Morro Solar. Silver goes to Argentina's Sofia Gomez while Jacqueline Mourao from Brazil takes home bronze.

Jose Ulloa Arevola from Mexico matches his teammates success and wins the gold medal in the men’s BMX cross country competition.

The Mexican Ana Ibanez and Leonardo Juarez win the poomsae taekwondo mixed pairs final; silver goes to Canada, bronze to Peru.

Argentina wins the canoe sprint in the men's K4 500m final, silver goes to Cuba and bronze to Mexico.

In the women’s K4 competition Canada won their first gold medal of the Games with Mexico in second and Argentina third.

Cuban Jorge Grau wins the gold medal in the 10m air pistol competition; US American Nick Mowrer takes home the silver medal.

The Burj Khalifa building in Dubai shines in the colors of the Peruvian national flag to mark Peru’s 198th anniversary of Independence.

Venezuela's Genesis Rodriguez claims gold in weightlifting after having lifted 96 kg in the snatch beating her own previous Pan Am record of 95 kg, then lifted 116 kg in the clean and jerk with a total of 212 kg. Yenny Sinisterra from Colombia takes home silver with 204 kg and Mexican Ana Lopez Ferrer bronze with 202 kg.

Canada’s women beat the USA in the Rugby 7’s final with 24 - 10 winning the gold medal. Colombia won the bronze.

Canada’s men couldn’t match the performance of the women. The defending champion in the men's rugby 7's final were beaten by Argentina 33 – 10 who take home gold. The US wins bronze after beating Brazil with 24 – 19.

Venezuela’s Julio Mayora wins the second gold medal for his country in weightlifting setting 3 new Pan American Games records. His 155 kg snatch was a new Pan Am record and his 194 kk clean and jerk was another one making his 349 kg combined yet another new Pan American benchmark!

And another gold medal for the Venezuelan team. Maria Camila Lobo wins the 59kg women’s weightlifting category.

Brayan Rodallegas from Colombia takes home the gold medal in the 81 kg men’s weightlifting category with lifting 161 kg in the clean and jerk - a new Pan Am record.

In the team gymnastics competition Brazil beats defending champs USA. The final team scores are 250,450 for Brazil, 249,400 for the USA. Canada wins bronze with 246,725.

Day 3 of the Pan American Games – July 29, 2019

In the canoe sprints K1 1000m Argentina's Agustin Vernice wins gold with in 1:42.008. Silver goes to Marshall Hughes from Canada 1:47.677 and bronze to Vagner Souta from 1:45.600.

Brazilian sprint canoeist Isaquias Queiroz takes home gold after winning the C2 1000m competition in 1:49.093 at Albufera de Medio Mundo in Huacho. Cuban Fernando Jorge finished with 1:49.144 a fraction behind him and wins silver, while Canadian Drew Hodges get the bronze medal for his 1:55.501 sprint.

Brazil wins the mixed teams triathlon followed by Canada and Mexico.

In the women waterski salmon US Regina Jaquess wins gold before Canadina Whitney Mc Clintock and her teammate Paige Rini.

The gold medal in the men waterski salmon goes to Robert Pigozzi from the Domincan Republic. Canadian Stephen Neveu wins silver, Mexican Carlos Lamadrid bronze.

Peruvian Natalia Cuglievan wins the 4th gold of the Games for Peru in the women waterski trick competition. Erika Lang from the US takes home silver and Canadian Paige Rini bronze.

Mexican Patricio Font Nelson brings home the gold medal in the men waterski trick event. Silver goes to Canadian Dorien Llewellyn and bronze to Adam Picjos from the US.

Regina Jaquess wins the women waterski jump final before Canadian Whitney Mc Clintock and Valentina Gonzalez from Chile.

In the men waterski jump final Taylor Garcia from the US takes home the gold medal. Silver goes to Felipe Miranda from Chile and bronze to Canadian Dorien Llewellyn.

And to finish the waterski competitions for today the gold medal in the women’s wakeboard event goes to Eugenia de Armas from Argentina. Mary Howell from the US wins silver, Marina Nep Ribeiro bronze.

The US wins the men’s and women’s 3x3 basketball finals. While the women beat Argentina 21 - 17 to win their first ever 3x3 basketball gold at the Pan American Games, the men defeated Puerto Rico 21 - 19.

In a thrilling final Canadian Ellie Black defeated her competition and takes the artistic gymnastics all-around gold home. USA's Riley McCusker wins silver, Brazilian Flavia Saraiva bronze.

The equestrian team Canada won the gold medal in the dressage competition before the US and Brazilian team.

Colombian Mercedes Perez wins the gold medal in the 64 kg weightlifting category. Her 130 kg clean and jerk sets a new Pan Am record and her 235 kg overall another Pan Am benchmark.

Day 4 of the Pan American Games – July 30, 2019

Canoeing

Canadian Alanna Braylougheed and Andreanne Langlois win gold in the women's canoe double sprint K2 500 meters; Argentina's Maria Garro and Brenda Rojas take home silver, Karina Alanis and Beatriz Briones from Mexico bronze.

Nevin Harrison from the US takes home gold in the women C1 200m category; silver goes to Maria Mailliard from Chile and bronze to Mayvihanet Borges

In the men’s canoe sprint category K1 200m Canadian Domink Crete wins the gold medal; Cesar de Cesare from Ecuador gets silver, the Argentinean Ruben Rezola bronze.

Argentina’s Sabrina Ameghino won the women K1 200m event. Silver goes to Canadian Andréanne Langlois and bronze to Mexican Beatriz Briones.

Artistic gymnastics

Today we saw 5 finals in gymnastics. Chile’s Tomas Gonzalez takes gold on the men’s floor exercise with a total score of 14.600; United States’ Robert Neff get silver for his 14.166 score and Colombian Andres Martinez bronze at 14.100.

In the men’s pommel horse Brazilian Francisco Barretto wins gold with a score of 13.533; Robert Neff from the US takes silver at 13.466 and Colombian Carlos Alberto Calvo bronze for his 13.233 score.

In the women’s vault final Canadian Elli Black beat the competition. She wins her second gold with a score of 14.450; silver goes to Yesenia Ferrera from Cuba for her 14.391 score and bronze to Canada’s Shallon Olsen at 14.183.

Mexican Fabian de Luna snatched the gold medal in the men’s rings category with a score of 14.500 from 2012 Olympic champion Arthur Zanetti of Brazil, who had problems swinging up to a handstand and goes home now with silver; Federico Molinara earned bronze.

On the uneven bars the North American women were unbeatable: Riley Mc Cusker from the US wins her second gold wit 14.533, US Leanne Wong silver with 14.300 and once again Canadian Elli Black this time bronze.

Peruvian Natalia Cuglievan wins the fourth gold medal of the Games for Peru with an outstanding performance in the women's waterski tricks final.

Beach Volleyball

And we had some thrilling beach volleyball finals today. The US women beat Argentina 2:1, bronze goes to Brazil who defeated Cuba 2:0. In the men’s final Chile defeated defending champion Mexico 2:1; bronze goes to Argentina who beat Canada 2:0.

Shooting

In the men’s 50m rifle 3 position US American Timothy Sherry won gold with a total of 455.8; silver goes to Michael Mc Phail as well from the US with 453.9 and bronze to Mexican Jose Sanchez with 402.8.

Brian Burrows from the US won the gold medal in the men’s trap category with a score of 43. His teammate Derek Haldeman won silver with a score of 40 and Brazilian Roberto Schmits takes home bronze for his total of 32.

Waterski

At the Laguna Bujama south of Lima US American Regina Jaquess won gold in the women’s overall jump; Canadian Whitney Mc Clintock and Paige Rini take home silver and bronze.

After his bronze in the men’s waterski jump, Canadian Dorien Llewellyn wins gold in the men’s overall jump; Mexican Rodrigo Miranda takes home silver and Tobias Giorgis from Argentina bronze.

In the wakeboard competition US American Andrew Adkison wins gold while Argentina’s Uld Ditsch does home with silver and Mexican Patricio Gonzalez with bronze.

Day 5 of the Pan American Games – July 31, 2019

Artistic Swimming

Two artistic swimming finals today – two gold medals for Canada.

Canadian artistic swimming duo Jacqueline Simoneau and Claudia Holzner take home the gold medal in the duet free routine. Mexico’s Nuria Diosdado Garcia and Joana Jimenez Garcia win silver, the USA duo finished with bronze, Here are the totals:

Artistic Gymnastics

Today we had another 5 finals in gymnastics. US American Kara Eaker was flawless in the women’s beam final. With her impressive 15.266 score she puts Canadian Ellie Black – who won her fifth medal of the Games - in silver. Eaker's American teammate Riley Mc Cusker (won bronze.

And another gold for Canada in women’s gymnastics. This time Brooklyn Moors excelled on the floor. She earned a 13,900 winning the gold medal. Kara Eaker added a silver medal to her suitcase with a 13,800 score. Brazil’s Flavia Saraiva won bronze scoring a 13,766. Ellie Black just missed her sixth medal of the Games in fourth with a score of 13,433.

Lima 2019 Peruvian Taekwondo athlete Hugo del Castillo wins silver

While everyone only speaks about the gold medalists, Hugo del Castillo, the Peruvian taekwondo athlete who performed an excellent poomsae routine at the Callao Sports Center, wins the first medal - a silver one - of the Games for Peru.

In the men's vault Audrys Nin from the Dominican Republic takes home gold after his impressive Dragulescu - a handspring double front somersault with ½ turn – which put his score at 14.416. Jorge Vega from Guatemala wins silver (14.383) followed by Cuban Alejandro de la Cruz with bronze (14.183).

In the men’s parallel bars Mexican Issac Nuñez won gold, Brazilian Caio Souza, who won the all-around title last Monday, silver and US American Cameron Bock bronze.

In a thrilling men’s horizontal bars final which marked the end of the gymnastic competitions of the Pan Am Games in Lima, Brazilian Francisco Barretto (14,566) defeated his teammate Arthur Mariano (14,533). Cuban Huber Godoy takes home the bronze medal.

Equestrian

In the dressage individual - intermediate I / G.Prix (freestyle) US American Sarah Lockman wins the gold medal on her horse First Apple and a score of 78.980. Canadian Tina Irwin on Laurencio takes home silver (77.780) and Jennifer Baumert from the US on Handsome bronze (75.755.

Shooting

In the mixed trap team final the US finished first and second; Derek Haldeman and Ashley Carroll take home the gold medal after a shoot-off victory over fellow US team Brian Burrows and Rachel Tozier. The Canadian team wins bronze.

Day 6 of the Pan American Games – August 1, 2019

Cycling (Track)

The team from Trinidad & Tobago was unstoppable in the men’s track cycling team sprint final at the Velodromo in Lima and win the first gold medal of the Games for their country. Trinidad raced to a 43.972 finish with an average speed of 61.402 km/h; Colombia crossed the finish line in 44.584 with an average speed of 60.559 km/h and takes home silver while the Brazilian team defeated Mexico and takes home bronze.

Mexico's women were luckier. They won the women’s track cycling team sprint final in 33.424 with an average speed of 53.853 Km/h; Canada takes home silver for their 34.096 race (average speed 52.792 km/h) and Colombia who defeated Argentina wins bronze.

In the omnium men points race Daniel Holloway from the US wins gold, Mexican Ignacio Prado silver and Chilean Felipe Peñaloza bronze.

Diving

In the men’s 1m springboard diving final Mexican Juan-Manuel Celaya wins the gold medal for his 429.90points. Silver goes to Yona Knight-Wisdom from Jamaica (429.90 points) and bronze to the 19-year-old US American Andrew Capobianco (411.25 points)

Lima 2019 Peruvian Taekwondo athlete Marcela Castillo wins silver

Just like her teammate Hugo del Castillo, the Peruvian taekwondo athlete Marcela Castillo wins the second silver medal of the Games for Peru with an excellent poomsae routine at the Callao Sports Center.

Team Canada (Jennifer Abel and Pamela Ware) wins the women’s synchronized 3m springboard final with 309.60 points. Silver goes to the US team Sarah Bacon and Brooke Schultz (290.10 points) and bronze to the Mexican team Dolores Hernandez and Paola Espinosa (285.00 points).

Shooting

In the women's 10m rifle final US American Alison Weisz (249.4) takes home the gold medal. Her teammate Minden Miles (246.4) wins silver while Fernanda Russo from Argentina (225.8) earns bronze.

The Cuban Jorge Alvarez and Leuris Pupo were unbeatable in the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol final and bring home the gold and silver medal. Peruvian Marko Carrillo wins the bronze.

Softball

Argentina celebrates a stunning 5-0 victory over the USA in the men’s softball final and is awarded with the gold medal. Mexico wins bronze.

Day 7 of the Pan American Games – August 2, 2019

Cycling

The US women’s track cycling team wins gold in the team pursuit ahead of Canada and Colombia.

In the Keirin women’s finals Colombian Martha Bayona rode home the gold medal. Silver goes to Lisandra Guerra from Cuba, bronze to the Mexican Yuli Verdugo.

Diving

US American Sarah Bacon wins the women's 1m springboard final with a score of 284.10. Her teammate Brooke Schultz (279.45) takes home silver and the Mexican Paola Espinosa (278.35) bronze.

In the men's synchronized 10m platform final Mexico’s Ivan Garcia and Kevin Berlin were ahead of their competition. Their 431.10 score secured them the gold medal. The Canadian team Vincent Riendeau and Nathan Zsombor-Murray scored 396.12 and goes home with silver while Issac Nascimento and Kawan Figueredo from Brazil wins bronze with 375.81.

Shooting

US American Lucas Kozeniesky wins the men's 10m Air Rifle ahead of Mexican Edson Ramirez Mexico and Argentina’s Marcel Gutierrez.

In the women's skeet US American Kimberly Rhode was once again ahead of her competition taking home another gold medal. Francisca Crovetto from Chile wins silver and Rhode’s teammate Dania Vizzi bronze.

Surfing

At the Punta Rocas complex we had today the men’s and women’s SUP race finals.

US American Connor Baxter gets gold for his 00:24:18.7 in the men's SUP Race ahead of Brazilian Vinnicius Martins (00:25:51.3). Peruvian surfer Itzel Delgado (00:26:24.3) wins another bronze medal for Peru.

In the women’s SUP Race Brazilian Lena Guimaraes wins gold (00:33:25.7), US American Candice Appleby silver (00:34:03.9) and Mariecarmen Rivera from Puerto Rico bronze (00:34:38.0).

Day 8 of the Pan American Games – August 3, 2019

Cycling

Just like their female teammates yesterday, the US men’s track cycling team wins gold in the team pursuit ahead of Colombia and Chile.

In the men’s sprint finals Nicholas Paul from Trinidad and Tobago rode home the gold medal. Silver goes to his teammate Njisane Phillip and bronze to Colombian Kevn Quintero.

Diving

Canadian Meaghan Benfeito wins the women's 10m platform final with a score of 375.05. Her teammate Caeli Mc Kay (365.70) takes home silver and the Mexican Alejandra Orozco (356.10) bronze.

In the men's synchronized 3m springboard final Mexico’s Yahel Castillo and Juan Celaya were ahead of their competition. Their 429.81 score secured them the gold medal. The Canadian team Philippe Gagné and Francois Imbeau-Dulac scored 414.21 and goes home with silver while US American Michael Hixon and Andrew Capobianco win bronze with 404.13.

Rhythmic Gymnastics

The first rhythmic gymnastics medals were awarded today.

US American Evita Griskenas wins the gold medal with 18.500 points in the individual all around category. Brazilian Barbara Domingos takes home silver (17.300) and Griskenas teammate Camilla Feeley gets bronze (16.950)

In the groups all around Mexico wins gold ahead of the US and Cuba

Shooting

3 more finals, 9 more medals today in shooting.

Argentina wins the mixed 10m Air Rifle team final and takes home gold. The US team gets silver, Mexico bronze.

The US American Sandra Uptagrafft wins gold in the women’s 25m pistol competition. Silver goes to Diana Durango from Ecuador, while bronze to her teammate Andrea Perez.

In the men's skeet US American Christian Elliott was ahead of his competition taking home gold medal. Juan Schaeffer from Guatemala wins silver and Peruvian Nicolas Pacheco secured another bronze medal for Peru.

Day 9 of the Pan American Games – August 4, 2019

Today was a historic day for Peruvian sports: 3 gold medals and 4 silver medals.

Athletics

In the women’s 20km walk Colombian Sandra Arenas wins gold in 1:28:03. Peruvian walker Kimberly Garcia finished second in 1:29:00 and wins the first medal – a silver one – of the day for Peru. Erica Rocha takes home bronze for her 1:30:34 walk.

Brian Pintado from Ecuador wins gold in the men’s 20km walk in 1:21:51 just 6 second before Caio Oliveria from Brazil and Jose Barrondo from Guatemala.

Baseball

The new Pan American baseball champion is Puerto Rico. They beat two-time defending champ Canada with 6-1.

Basketball

The basketball gold medal goes to Argentina who beat Puerto Rico 84:66.

Canoe

6 canoe finals today in Lunahuana at the Rio Cañete.

US American Zachary Lokken wins gold in the canoe (C1) category ahead of Sebastian Rossi from Argentina and Brazilian Felipe Borgers.

In the women’s canoe (C1) event the Brazilian Ana Satila wins gold ahead of Canadian Lois Betteridge and US American Michaela Corcoran.

Brazilian Pedro Goncalves takes home the gold medal in the Kayak (K1) men category. Argentinian Lucas Rossi wins silver and Canadian Keenan Simpson bronze.

In the Kayak (K1) women category US American Evy Leibfarth wins gold ahead of Nadia Riquelme form Argentina and Brazilian Sofia Reinoso.

Brazilian Pedro Goncavales wins his second gold of the day in the extreme slalom (K1) men category. US American Joshua Joseph comes in second and Canada’s Keenan Simpson takes home his second bronze medal of the day.

In the women’s extreme slalom (K1) Brazilian Ana Satila wins her second gold medal of the Day, US American Evy Leibfarth silver after gold earlier and Sofia Reinoso her second bronze medal.

Cycling

In track cycling we saw another 4 finals today.

The United States win ahead of Canada and Mexico in the Madison women category.

In the Madison men’s final Chile wins ahead of Mexico and the US.

Canadian Kelsey Mitchel wins the women’s sprint ahead of Martha Bayona from Colombia; bronze goes to Mexico’s Luz Gaxiola.

Colombian Kevin Quintero takes home gold in the Keirin men category. Hersony Canelon from Venezuela wins silver, Argentinian Leandro Bottasso bronze.

Diving

Colombian Daniel Restrepo wins the 3m springboard event. Silver goes to Mexican Juan Celaya who already won gold in the men’s synchronized 3m springboard category and bonze to Philippe Gagné who went home with silver in the men’s synchronized 3m springboard event.

In the women’s synchronized 10m platform final Canadian team Meaghan Benfeito (who already won the women's 10m platform final) and Caeli Mc Kay (who already won the silver medal in the women's 10m platform final) wins gold. Mexico takes home silver, the US bronze.

Equestrian

The US American riders were nearly unbeatable today. They win the team jumping final ahead of Brazil and Canada.

In the individual jumping category US American Boyd Martin on Tsetserleg wins gold, his teammate Lynn Symansky on RF Cool Play silver and Brazilian Carlos Parro on Quaikin Qurious bronze.

Open water swimming

Brazilian Ana de Jesus Soares wins the women’s 10k open water swimming event. Cecilia Biagioli from Argentina takes home silver and de Jesus Soares’ teammate Viviane Eichelberger bronze.

In the men’s 10k open water swimming category Esteban Enderica comes in first taking home the gold medal to Ecuador. Guillermo Bertola from Argentina wins silver and US American Taylor Abbott bronze.

Rhythmic Gymnastics

After winning gold in the individual all round category US American Evita Griskenas as well takes home the gold medal in the hoop category and another one in the ball event. Canadian Katherine Uchida wins silver in both events the ball and the hoop; and US American Camilla Feeley (who won gold in the individual all round category together with her teammate Evita Griskenas) goes home with two bronze medals, one in the hoop and one in the ball.

In the 5 balls group final Mexico was ahead of the competition wining gold. Silver goes to the US, bronze to Brazil.

Surfing

A historic day for Peru. After Peruvian surfer Itzel Delgado won the first Pan American medal ever in the history of Peruvian surfing yesterday - a bronze medal in the men's Sup Race – today Peru’s surfers won another 3 gold medals and 3 silver medals.

Gold goes to the Peruvian surfers: Benoit Clemente in the men’s longboard event, Daniella Rosas in the women’s open surfing category and Lucca Mesinas in the men’s open surfing event.

Kevin Berlin and Ivan Garcia both from Mexico take home the gold and silver medal in the men’s 10m platform event. Canadian Vincent Riendeau wins bronze.

Fencing

In the first men’s fencing finals the Limardo Gascon brothers from Venezuela were unbeatable. Brother Ruben wins gold in the men’s Épée category beating his brother Jesus 15:8 who takes home the silver medal.

US American Lee Kiefer wins the gold medal in the women’s foil individual by beating Canadian Jessica Guo 15:10.

Handball

Argentina beats Chile 31:27 in the men’s handball final winning Pan American gold.

Brazil takes home the bronze medal after defeating Mexico 32:20

US American Camilla Feeley takes home gold in the clubs event ahead of Canadian Natalie Garcia and Evita Griskenas.

In the ribbon final Evita Griskenas was ahead of her competition winning gold. Barbara Domingos from Brazil takes home silver and Mexican Karla Diaz bronze.

And in the group 3 hoops, 2 pairs of clubs final Brazil wins gold ahead of Mexico and Cuba.

Trampoline Gymnastics

In the women’s individual category Canadian Samantha Smith wins gold ahead of US American Nicole Ahsinger and Mexian Dafne Navarro.

Canadian Jeremy Chartier takes home the gold medal in the men’s individual event while US American Jeffrey Gluckstein wins silver and his teammate Ruben Padilla bronze.

With a new Pan American record of 67,68m Andray Dacres from Jamaica wins the gold medal in the men’s discus throw. His teammate Jamie Smikle takes home silver for his 65,02m throw and US American Reginald Jahers III bronze (64,48m).

And another Pan American record: Cuban Yaime Perez takes home the gold medal after her 66.58m cast in the women's discus; Andressa Oliveira De Morais from Brazil wins silver for her 65.98m launch andher teammate Fernanda Borges bronze ( 62.23m).

Chantel Malone is the first medalist from the British Virgin Islands at the Pan American Games winning the first ever gold medal for the British Virgin Islands for her 6.68m longjump. US American Keturah Orji jumped 6.66m winning silver and Jamaica's Tissanna Hickling takes home bronze for her 6.59m leap.

Fernando Martinez wins the men’s 5000m final ahead of Altobeli Santos da Silva from Brazil and Chile’s Carlos diaz del Rio.

In the women’s 10,000m category Natasha Wodak wins the gold medal for her 31:55.17 run; another Pan American record. Mexican Risper Biyaki finished with a personal best of 31:59.00 and takes home silver while Canadian Rachel Cliff gets bronze (32:13.34).

No medal, but today the first World Record at the Pan American Games 2019 in Lima was broken. US American archer Brady Ellison used the perfect conditions shooting 702 points from a possible 720 in the men's recurve. He beat the existing record of 700 points set by the Korean archer Kim Woojin at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio making him the second recurve archer in history to beat the 700 points.

Fencing

In the men’s foil individual Gerek Meinhardt from the US beat Chile’s Gustavo Alarcon 15:11 taking home gold.

Meinhardt’s teammate Anne-Elizabeth Stone wins the gold medal in the women’s sabre individual event defeating Maria Perez from Argentina 15:13.

Swimming

Today 8 finals in the pool of the Aquatics Center in Lima.

The 19-year-old Argentinian Delfina Pignatiello wins the 400m freestyle gold medal in 4:10.86. Canada’s Danica Ludlow wins silver (4:11.97) and her teammate Alyson Ackman bronze (4:12.05).

In the men's 400m freestyle Andrew Abruzzo from the US was ahead of his competition winning gold for his 3:48.41, Brazil’s Fernando Muhlenberg Scheffer takes home silver (3:49.60) and his teammate Luiz Lopes bronze (3:49.91).

The gold medal in the women’s 100m breaststroke category goes to US American swimmer Anne Lazor (106.94); Julia Sebastian from Argentina wins silver (1:07.09) and Canadian Faith Knelson bronze (1:07.42).

In the men’s 100m breaststroke category Joao Gomes Jr. from Brazil was ahead of his competition winning gold for his 59.51. US American Cody Miller takes home silver (59:57) and his teammate Kevin Cordes bronze (1:00.27).

 Another swimming gold for the Argentinian women. In the women's 200m butterfly Virginia Bardach finished first in 2:10.87. Canadian Mary-Sophie Harvey wins silver (2:11.68) and US American Meghan Small bronze (2:12.51).

The gold medal in the men’s 200m butterfly goes to Leonardo Gomes from Brazil (1:55.86). US American Samuel Pomajevich takes home silver (1:57.35) and Colombian Jonathan Gomez bronze (1:57.75).

With another Pan American record Brazil wins the gold medal in the men's 4x100m freestyle category. The Brazilian quartet of Breno Correia, Marcelo Chierighini, Bruno Fratus and Pedro Spajari reached the final in 3:12.61. Silver goes to the US (3:14.94) and bronze to Mexico (3:17.70).

In the women's 4x100m freestyle final the US team was ahead winning gold with their 3:39.59. Brazil takes home silver (3:40.39) and Canada bronze (3:41.01).

In the men’s longjump final Cuban Juan Echevarria wins gold with 8.27m ahead of Tajay Gayle from Jamaica (8.17) and Emiliano Lasa from Uruguay (7.87).

Natoya Goule from Jamaica wins the women’s 800m final taking home gold. Cuba’s Rose Almanza comes in second and Deborah Rodrigues third.

In the women’s 100m event Jamaica once again was ahead. Elaine Thompson takes home gold, Michelle-Lee Ahye from Trinidad and Tobago silver and Brazil’s Vitoria Christina Rosa bronze.

The men’s 100m final was won by US American Michael Rodgers; Paulo Camilo de Oliveira takes home silver and Cejhae Greene from Antigua and Barbuda bronze

In the men’s shot put final Brazil's Darlan Romani set a new Pan American record wining the gold medal with 22.07m. Silver goes to US American Jordon Geist (20.67), bronze to Mexican Uziel Muñoz

And after Toronto 2015 once again gold for Canadian Damian Warner in the men's decathlon. Silver (the first medal for his country in this Pan American Games) goes to Lindon Victor from Grenada, bronze to Warner’s teammate Pierce LePage.

Cycling (Road)

Today the men’s and women’s time trail finals at Lima’s Costa Verde.

In the women’s event US American Chloe Dygert was ahead of her competition with 23:36.51 winning gold. Silver goes to Teniel Campbell from Trinidad and Tobago (24:50.24) and bronze to Canadian Laurie Jussaume (26:27.15).

Colombian Daniel Martinez wins the men’s category with 44:22.71. Brazilian Magno do Prado takes home silver (46:17.44) and José Rodriguex from Chile bronze (46:25.51.

Racquetball

Mexico was unbeatable in all 4 racquetball finals today.

Paola Longoria wins the women's singles and together with her teammate Samantha Salas the women’s doubles. Then Rodrigo Montoya wins the men's final, and with teammate Javier Mar the men’s doubles.

Swimming

7 finals in swimming today and 6 of the 7 gold medals go to US American swimmers.

In the women’s 200m freestyle Claire Rasmus from the US wins the first gold medal of the day for her 1:58.64. Silver goes to her teammate Meaghan Raab (1:58.70) and bronze to Brazilian Larissa Martins de Oliveira (1:59:78).

The only gold medal of today the US team couldn’t win was in the men’s 200m freestyle category. Here Brazilian Fernando Muhlenberg Scheffer was ahead of the competition winning gold in 1:46.68. His teammate Breno Martins takes silver (1:47.47) and US American Drew Kibler bronze (1:47.71).

In the women's 100m butterfly US American Kendyl Stewart wins gold in 58.49. Silver goes to Canada’s Danielle Hanus in 58.93 and bronze to US American Sarah Gibson in 59.11.

US American Thomas Shields wins the gold medal in the men's 100m butterfly in 51:59; Luis Martinez from Guatemala takes home silver (51.63), Brazilian Vinicius Moreira bronze (51.88).

In the women's 200m backstroke US American Alexandra Walsh wins gold (2:08.30), her teammate Isabelle Stadden silver (2:08.39) and Canadian Mac Kenzie Glover bronze (2:10.95).

21-year-old Daniel Carr from the US wins the men's 200m backstroke in 1:58.13. His teammate
Nicholas Alexander takes the silver medal (1:58.30) and Brazilian Leonardo Gomes bronze (1:58.73).

And the last gold medal of today goes as well to the US. In the Pan American Games first ever mixed 4x100m freestyle relay the US American swimmers Nathan Adrian, Michael Chadwick, Lia Neal, and Margo Geer win in 3:24.84. Brazil comes in second (3:25.97) taking home silver and Mexico is third (3:31.36).

Table Tennis

In the women’s singles category Adriana Diaz from Puerto Rico defeated US American Yue Wu 4:1 winning the gold medal.

In the men’s singles category Brazilian Hugo Calderano beat Jiaji Wu from the Dominican Republic 4:3 winning the gold medal.

In the men’s hammer throw Chilean Gabriel Kehr wins gold with 74.98 m. His teammate Humberto Mansilla’s throw of 74.38m was enough for silver and US American Sean Donnelly takes home the bronze medal (74.23).

Levern Spencer wins with 1.87m the first medal, a golden one, of this Pan American Games for Santa Lucia in the women’s high jump. Priscilla Frederick from Antigua and Barbuda takes home silver, Jamaican Kimberly Williamson bronze.

In the women’s pole vault event Cuban Yarisley Silva was ahead of her competition winning gold for her 4.75m high jump. Silver goes to US American Kathryn Nageotte (4.70), bonze to Canada’s Alysha Newman (4.55).

After leading Juander Santos from the Dominican Republic crashed into the final hurdle and fell to the ground Brazilian Alison Alves Dos Santos takes home the gold medal in the men’s 400m hurdles. Silver goes to US American Amere Lattin and bronze to Kemar Mowatt from Jamaica.

Rowing

In the women’s coxless pairs category Chile wins gold ahead of Canada and Mexico.

Argentina was ahead of the competition in the men’s double sculls final winning gold. Cuba goes home with silver and Brazil with bronze.

In the women’s double sculls event Cuba takes the gold medal while the US get silver and Argentina bronze.

Argentina however wins a second gold in the men’s coxless four category. Silver goes to Cuba and bronze to Brazil.

In the women’s javelin throw US American Kara Winger wins gold, Canadian Elizabeth Gleadle silver and Winger’s teammate Ariana Ince bronze.

Danniel Thomas from Jamaica wins the women’s shot put final. Canadian Brittany Crew goes home with silver and US American Jessica Ramsey with bronze.

The women’s 200m gold medal goes to Jamaican Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. Brazilian Vitoria Silva takes silver and Tynia Gaither from the Bahamas bronze.

In the men’s 100m final Alex Quiñomez from Ecuador was ahead of the competition. Second to cross the line was Jereem Richards from Trinidad and Tobago, third Yancarlos Martinez from the Dominican Republic.

The gold medal in the women’s 4x100m relay goes to Brazil. Canada wins silver and the US bronze.

In the lightweight women’s double sculls Canada wins gold ahead of Chile and Cuba.

Mexico was ahead of the competition in the lightweight men’s double sculls winning gold. Argentina takes home silver and Chile bronze.

In the men’s coxless pairs category Chile wins gold, while Brazil takes home silver and Argentina bronze.

Sailing

Today we saw 6 sailing events for Pan Am medals in Paracas.

In the men’s dinghy medal race Juan Maegli from Guatemala wins gold, Brazilian Bruno Fontes silver and US American Carles Buckingham bronze.

Canada’s Sarah Douglas takes home the gold medal in the women’s dinghy medal race. Silver goes to US American Charlotte Rose and bronze to Argentinean Lucia Falasca.

In the men’s windsurfer medal race Argentinean Bautista Saubidet was ahead of his competition winning gold, US American Pedro Pascual takes home silver and Mack van den Eerenbeemt from Aruba bronze.

Brazilian Patricia Freitags wins the women’s windsurfer medal race. Celia Tejerina from Argentina takes home silver and Maria Bazo wins another bronze medal for Peru.

Gold in the men’s skiff race goes to Brazil. Argentina takes home silver and Canada bronze.

And in the mixed multihull medal race the US was ahead of the competition. Argentina wins another silver medal and Brazil bronze.

In the women’s 300m time trial categaory Maria Moya from Chile wins gold ahead of Geiny Pajaro from Colombia and Dalia Soberanis from Guatemala.

Gold in the classic bodybuilding category goes to William Rodriguez from El Salvador. Colombian Carlos Giraldo takes home silver and Joantahn Martinez from Guatemala bronze.

In the women’s fitness event Paulina Zamora as well from El Salvodor was ahead of her competition. Mexican Xyomara Valdivia wins silver, Macarena Figueroa from Chile bronce.

Cycling Road

Gold in the women’s road race goes to Arlenis Sierra. Teniel Campbell from Trinidad and Tobago wins silver, Mexican Lizbeth Salazar bronze.

In the men’s road race final Argentinean Maximiliano Richeze was ahead of his competition winning gold. Mexican Ingnazio Prado takes home silver and Bryan Gomez from Colombia bronze.

Fencing

The women’s epée team gold medal goes to the US who beat Cuba 45:29. And the US men’s epée team leveled up. They as well win gold by defeating Canada 45:41.

Table Tennis

Puerto Rico wins gold in the women’s team final beating Brazil 3:2.

In the men’s team category the US takes the gold medal defeating the Argentina 3:2.

The last day of the Pan American Games in Lima 2019 has arrived and the last medals changed their owner.

Archery

The US wins gold in the mixed recurve team beating Colombia 5:3. In the women’s recurve team the US is as well ahead winning gold by defeating Mexico 5:3. In the men’s recurve team event Canada wins gold beating Chile 5:4.

Athletics

The last athletics event today, the 50km walk. In the men’s category Claudio Villanueva from Ecuador wins gold ahead of Mexican Horacio Nava and Diego Pinzon from Colombia. In the women’s event Ecuador was as well ahead of the competition. Jojana Ordoñez wins gold; silver goes to Mirna Ortiz from Guatemala and bronze to another Ecuadorian Paola Perez.

Cycling BMX

In the women’s freestyle BMX US American Hannah Roberts takes home the Pan American gold medal. Silver goes to Macarena Perez from Chile and bronze to Augustina Roth.

Daniel Dher from Venezuela wins the gold medal in the men’s freestyle BMX event. Silver goes to Argentinean Jose Torres and bronze to US American Justin Dowell.

Volleyball

The Pan American gold medalist in women’s Volleyball is the Dominican Republic who beat Colombia 3:1.

Closing Ceremony of the Pan American Games in Lima 2019

At 20:00 hours the closing ceremony of the Pan American Games 2019 in Lima, held at the National Stadium, ended officially the Pan American Games 2019 (Peru). After 19 days of competitions the closing ceremony was a night full of emotion. Dances, music with Gian Marco and Francisca Valenzuela and a parade of delegations were part of the spectacle. The next edition (XIX) of the Pan American Games will be held in Santiago de Chile (Chile) 2023 (from the 20th of October until the 5th of November).
