The premiere of his first movie “Steamboat Willie” on the 18th of November 1928 at the Colony Theater in New York marks the birthday of Mickey Mouse. And this year the famous mouse decided to celebrate with all his friends and fans around the globe. So, he set out on a trip around the world and landed in Cusco last week.

Mickey Mouse’s adventure already started 3 weeks ago in Los Angeles. From there he traveled to Asia and was seen dancing in Kyoto and sightseeing in Shanghai. Afterwards his birthday journey continued to Europa where he danced on the rooftops of Rome and had a lovely breakfast with a view of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. At the beginning of November Mickey Mouse finally landed in South America. First stop was Rio de Janeiro where he gave Capoeira, a Brazilian martial art combining dance, music and acrobatics, a try.

Mickey’s big adventure was taking him then to Cusco. Here he took the chance to learn more about Peru’s rich and diverse culture and met new friends. He was seen posing next to a baby alpaca on Cusco’s main square and being photographed at the Sacsayhuaman ruins, one of the most amazing Inca sites, on the northern outskirts of town. Here he surprised us when joining the locals for a traditional dance.

Unfortunately, we don’t know where Mickey Mouse’s journey will continue to, but we are happy he made a stop in Peru to celebrate his 88th birthday with us.
