Early Sunday morning, May 26, 2019 at 02.41am local time a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 8.0 on the Richter scale shock northern Peru killing at least one person, injuring at least 18 and causing damages to homes and infrastructure.

Just recently the Vehicle Theft Prevention Division (DIPROVE) of the Peruvian National Police (PNP) published its report for 2016 detailing how many vehicles were stolen in Lima in the past year. Additionally, the statement indicates where in Lima and when the robberies occurred, as well as which car models were preferred by the thieves.
This afternoon at around 04.30 pm a fire broke out at the Jockey Plaza shopping center, for 20 years Lima’s showpiece mall. Officials confirmed that shoppers and workers could be evacuated and access to the shopping mall is denied; at this moment there are no reports of injured persons.
An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 on the Richter Scale shock the province of Ucayali this morning. At 08.30 am the quake hit the National Park of Alto Purus and was measured to have originated in a depth of 550 km.
