It’s finally summer in Lima and Limeños head to the beaches of Callao, San Miguel, Magdalena del Mar, Miraflores, Barranco and Chorrillos. All those that don’t have a car or want to avoid traffic jams and packed parking lots can once again use the special summer bus service of the Metropolitano bus to get to the beaches of Barranco and Chorrillos.

Starting from December 29th busses circulate from the Matellini bus station (platform 16) in Chorrillos along Av. Las Gaviotas, Av. Huaylas, the Malecón de Chorrillos down to the Costa Verdey where they stop at the beaches Las Sombrillas, Agua Dulce, Pescadores and La Herradura. Along Av. Paraguay, Av. Huaylas, Av. Las Gaviotas and the Óvalo La Curva they get back to the Matellini bus terminal.

Beachgoers can get on and off the bus at any bus station along the way. The trip from Chorrillos to the beaches and vice versa costs just S/. 0.50 each way. Busses run from Monday to Friday from 10.00 am to 05.00 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10.00 am to 07.00 pm.

So, head to the beach and enjoy the summer during Lima’s most beautiful time of the year.
