Traffic in Lima is horrendous; parking spaces are scarce. To encourage people to leave their car at home and think about alternative means of transport, the district of San Isidro in Lima launched a new public bus service called MiBus.

MiBus busses can be used by citizens of San Isidro, the general public and visitors free of charge and run through the district on two regular routes and one express route from Monday to Friday from 07.00 am to 06.30 pm.

Route 1 (in the picture red) with 16 bus stops services the western part of the district, while route 2 (blue in the picture) with 19 bus stops runs in San Isidro’s eastern part; both routes connect at El Olivar Park. Additionally, an express service has been established in the heart of the financial district along Av. Canaval Moreyra with 8 bus stops.

The busses of MiBus are operated by the municipality of San Isidro, only stop at signposted bus stops and run on a strict schedule (see our pictures below).

The MiBus project is like the district’s composting campaign part of San Isidro’s policy to create a sustainable city.
