Lima Beer Week 2017

Over the past few years a large and interesting craft beer scene developed in Peru and here especially in Lima. To promote and celebrate these special, high quality beers with lots of character and big flavor, the Lima Beer Week was successfully established last year in the Peruvian capital.

Organized once again by the Union of Craft Beer Brewers of Peru (UCAP), in this year’s second edition of the Lima Beer Week 30 craft beer brewers participate proudly letting us taste and enjoy their exceptional and extraordinary beers.

While some craft beer brewers pride themselves with brewing within the German purity law, others are more experimental and add unorthodox ingredients to their beers. So, don’t be surprised to find Quinoa Beer, Honey Ale, Oat Stout, Coffee Porter, beers with fruits such as guanabana, Peruvian lime or passionfruit, Coca Beer and other interesting options.

The 10-day festival consists of 52 different events including beer tastings, guided brewery tours and festivals in different bars, restaurants, hotels and breweries around town.

To end the Lima Beer Week 2017, on October 14, 2017, the Peruvian Craft Beer Cup is awarded to the best local craft beer.

Participating in the Lima Beer Week 2017 are the following Craft Beer brewers: 7 Vidas, Ágora, Andes Pride, Antigona, Barbarian, Barranco Beer Company, Beerstache, Cevecería Del Valle, Cumbres, Curaka, GreenGa, Hops, Invictus, Jaya Brew Company, Knock Out, LimaBrew, Limamanta, Maddok, Magdalena, Melkim, Nuevo Mundo, Oveja Negra, Pukllay, Saqra, Santos Demonios, Sierra Andina, Teach, Tío Luque, Vicuña and Zenith.
