The Japneses summer festival Natsu Matsuri is celebrated in Lima this weekend

Natsu Matsuri, the Japanese summer festival is back in Lima, presenting a mixture of traditional and modern Japanese culture and the best of the gastronomy, art and music scene of the land of the rising sun to a growing fan community here in Peru.

Next to traditional Japanese food and stalls selling all sorts of things related to anime and manga, this year’s 7th edition of the Natsu Matsuri presents a cosplay contest - Reika Arikawa, the outstanding Japanese cosplayer will be there-, the 1st Kawaii Craft Expo and manga and ikebana exhibitions.

Additionally, different workshops featuring the Japanese culture Bunka sai, including a shodō workshop (Japanese calligraphy), a Japanese language workshop and an ikebana workshop (art of flower arrangement) are offered.

Japanese music is presented by artists such as Hachioji P, creator and producer of “electropop”, remixer and internationally recognized Vocaloid DJ, Matsu together with DJ Kaya, playing popular Anison, Vocaloid and J-Pop music, and the band Ryou Sakai Project from Arequipa performs their best J-pop music.

The festival is organized by the Association Keijiban Kurabu which was founded by tutors and students of the Japanese language within the Japanese Peruvian Cultural Center and is dedicated to spread Japanese culture.

Where: Estadio la Union (AELU),  calle Abraham Lincoln 100, Pueblo Libre, Lima

Tickets: general entrance fee S/ 33, additional fees for workshops and fanmeetings, tickets are available at Tu Entrada boots at Plaza Vea and Vivanda, at Tu Entrada online or at the entrance of the event.
